How does the process work?
Based on AWS best practices, we’ve divided the process into two main stages – the sandbox and production environment. You upload your data over the weekend, and get access to the Cloud environment on Monday. You’ll also have a kick-off call with our migration teams to learn more information about the detailed process to meet all your specific organizational needs.
What is the cost involved?
We have segmented the pricing based on customer types. We have built new pricing and packaging that makes the switch to Cloud a worthwhile choice. Usually the cost for maintaining On-Prem is significantly higher as compared to Cloud. Meet with your CSM to calculate the actual Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for making the switch to the Cloud.
What is the downtime going to be like?
We work closely with all our customers to make sure that the downtime is minimal. In most cases, we do the migration over the weekend – the system goes down on Friday and comes up on Monday morning.
How much time would it take?
It mostly depends on the client’s database size, but the migration usually happens over the weekend. From our end, we can have it up and running within two weeks (one weekend for the sandbox and another to test the production environment), depending on clients’ UAT needs.
What effort is involved on my end during the migration process?
We’ve worked hard to make sure that the process is smooth and seamless for our customers. You will back up the database first, upload the data and test it during the sandbox and production environment, all the while being supported by SysAid experts.
What happens to my On-Prem after I move to the Cloud?
Your On-Prem server is not shut down initially. We will make sure that everything is working smoothly on the Cloud environment, and once that is confirmed it can be shut down. You can repurpose it for other IT needs.
